Our Relational Covenant
This is our relational covenant a written document developed, agreed to by the people of this church, and practiced on a daily basis. This covenant answer the question. "How we will relate to each other when we don't understand each other and when we don't agree?"
As people of Bethel Covenant Church, we acknowledge healthy conflict as a normal and natural part of life. In an effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3) we choose to...
Respect and Honor one another, the pastorial staff, and the lay leaders, by building each otherup instead of tearing down. (1 Thessalonians 5:11-15)
Communicate by speaking the truth in love, listening with compassion, and seeking to understand, while striving to maintain the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:3,15, James 1:19)
Offer Grace and Forgiveness by, as much as possible, living in peace with one another, seeking forgiveness when we sin, and extending forgiveness to others who sin against us. (Ephesians 4:32, Romans 12:18)
Show Love by investing in one another by actively showing love of christ and committing to being inconvenienced for the sake of the gospel. (Philippians 2:5-11, John 13:34-35)
Pursue unity in Christ through prayer, the reading of God's word, and the leading of the Holy Spirit, laying aside prefernces, and choosing to walkhand in hand even when we don;t see eye to eye. (Colossians 3:14-15, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19, 24)
